7 Habits That Block Abundance

by Brenda on October 1, 2011

Whether you think of abundance as cash flow, or the creative expression of your chosen art form, experiencing an extended blank canvas period can feel discouraging and frustrating.

And, if you relinquish your focus to the pulsating pull of negative influences, it can be really difficult to bring yourself fully to the powerfully creative playground that is your Essence.

Focused on our good, focused on our abundance we naturally attract more of the same. This is spiritual law. Our consciousness is creative. What we focus on, we empower and enlarge. What if the downtime is required for you to tune into what you’ve been buying into? It can be quite easy to surrender your attention to the noise of everyday living, whether it’s your local news or social media chatter. A regular practice of tuning in – whether it’s meditation, writing, or mindfulness – will help you uncover the habits that are up for realignment and help you choose again.

See if any of these 7 habits are running the back of the room and blocking your abundance:

1. Outsourcing Your Abundance. This is the habit of postponing your abundance until you’ve accomplished ‘x.’ Your source of abundance has been projected onto another, whether it’s a person, an ideology, a teacher, a method, a group, etc. You have just siphoned off your power to the object that will ‘deliver’ abundance. Abundance is sourced from within, it cannot be obtained from anything outside of you.

2. Postponing Action on Inspired Ideas. The moment when you first get that flash of inspiration is the moment to act on it, in some way. The action may be as simple as jotting down the idea and initial notes. You might be moved to do some research or make some phone calls. The key is to take action! Your insights contain rocket fuel. If you don’t ride the moment, it dissipates. What you act on today, you can build on tomorrow.
